In this blog post, I tell you about people who reveal a part of themselves through their music videos. Sometimes vulnerable, sometimes cheeky, sometimes contemplative. I’m just clicking through the submitted music videos on the LMVF page  and feel like I’m just speeding through countless angles.

I have taken the category #narrative.  A music video begins with the funeral of the mother of a little girl. It misses the mother.  It plays the piano and sings along to it. “What will I do in a world without you? Days go by but there’s nothing else to do.” The video shows situations from everyday life. With her father, a dog and while playing. And then the little girl sings, “You’re with us and we’re still here. With you.”

The next video is about separation. She gets into the car, drives off and cries. He looks after her. A little later you can see him standing at the cliff and texting. He leaves the phone on the stone and jumps into the sea. She reads the message and immediately rushes there.

In another music video, a couple gets lost. Represented by a “hide and seek game” in the forest. After he hides, she can’t find him anymore.

Then I see a music video in which a woman lets go of the steering wheel of her car and drives to suicide. Why? Unfulfilled love!

At the online stream of the London Music Video Festival on the 1st of July 2021, all music videos will be shown. And – the most exciting of this day: The winner of each category will be awarded.

The music video for the accounting song “Pick  it  up” can be found in the category #advert.
